New member, NSICARS

EfCCNa welcomes a new Member association, Nurses Society of Intensive Care, Anesthesia and Reanimation of Serbia (NSICARS)

Nurses Society of Intensive Care, Anaesthesia and Reanimation of Serbia (NSICARS) began in April 14-th 2007. We cooperate with many national societies but our closest links are with the Society of Intensive Care Medicine in Serbia and Serbian Society of Anaesthesiologists. NSICARS currently boasts 500 members which include nurses and technicians employed in intensive care and anaesthesia. This number is growing and it is a sign of a dynamic and evolving society for nurses.

Within the first year of being established we organised a Symposium of intensive care for nurses and technicians with 350 participants. We also held the first international congress of intensive care, anaesthesia and reanimation, with over than 400 participants, which was very successful. In addition we became members of the European Federation of Critical Care Nursing Associations (EfCCNa) are proud of this opportunity to be part of this important and strategic group of professionals.

The main aims of NSICARS are :

  • developing the system of continuous education,
  • provide coordination between intensive care units, anaesthesia and reanimation departments of Serbia,
  • improve experience and communication between health professionals,
  • key up a knowledge for importance of continuous education,
  • contributing to the development of national health care standards
  • networking with similar-minded European groups and collaborate

The main objective of our society is the continuous development and advancement of healthcare staff in all the aspects of intensive care, anaesthesias and reanimation. In addition we are committed to improving the quality of care to patients by delivering care that is informed by the best available evidence and tailored to the individuals needs. We recognise that success in caring for patients is a multidisciplinary approach and we value the contributions of all team members.
